Terms of service

SOUTH COAST SWISS Customer Terms & Conditions Last updated  |  17 July 2026 Please read these terms before buying from us. They explain how we accept orders and payments, deliver watches, handle returns, warranties and complaints. Nothing in these terms limits any legal right that cannot be excluded.

1. About us and these terms South Coast Swiss Ltd ("we", "us" or "our") is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16200372 and VAT number GB 491 2039 01. Our registered and trading address is Bayside Business Centre, Unit 1 Sovereign Business Park, 48 Willis Way, Poole, Dorset, BH15 3TB. Email us at contact@southcoastswiss.uk, call +44 7398 420963 for sales and product enquiries, or call +44 7707 043721 for all other enquiries. These terms apply to watches and related goods bought directly from South Coast Swiss Ltd, whether the contract is made remotely or in person. A "consumer" is an individual buying mainly for personal use. Clause 21 also applies where you buy wholly or mainly for business or resale.

2. Watches, descriptions and condition All watches we sell are pre-owned. Age, price, stated condition, service history and disclosed defects are relevant when assessing quality. Photographs normally show the actual watch and form part of its description. Normal signs of age, wear or previously disclosed issues are not faults. We describe the watch, reference, approximate production year, condition and included box, papers, links and accessories as accurately as reasonably possible. Dates based on serial ranges or third-party records may be approximate. Only items expressly listed are included. Screen settings, lighting and photography may cause minor colour differences.

3. Prices Our watches are sold under the VAT Margin Scheme. VAT is accounted for on our margin and is not shown separately or recoverable by the customer. Services supplied separately, such as servicing, repairs or polishing, are subject to VAT where applicable and will be shown accordingly on the quotation or invoice. Prices are in pounds sterling. Each transaction price is individually agreed and may differ by sales channel, promotion, package of goods or services, and other commercial terms. The total price payable, together with any delivery, insurance, import or optional costs, will be confirmed on our quotation, invoice or order confirmation before the contract is made.

4. Orders and when the contract is formed Website listings, price indications, messages and quotations invite you to enquire or make an offer to buy; they are not binding offers by us. When we issue a final invoice or written order confirmation identifying the watch and agreed total price, we are offering to sell it to you on these terms. Unless that document says otherwise, the binding contract is formed when South Coast Swiss Ltd receives full cleared payment against it. For an in-person purchase, the contract is formed when the agreed payment is accepted. Where a part-exchange is involved, Clause 6 also applies. Each watch is normally unique stock. We may correct an obvious pricing or description error before the contract is formed. Once the contract is formed, we may cancel only where these terms or the law allow, including where payment is reversed, verification cannot be completed, or fulfilling the order would be unlawful. If we cancel, we will return money received without undue delay. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into the contract, and must provide accurate, current contact, billing and delivery information.

5. Sourced watches and deposits If you ask us to source a particular watch, we will agree the specification, total price and deposit with you in writing before we begin. The deposit is part-payment of the purchase price. Once we have committed funds, acquired the watch or incurred sourcing costs in reliance on your order, the deposit may be retained to cover our reasonable costs and losses if you do not complete the purchase. We will notify you when the watch is available. The remaining balance must be received in cleared funds within 14 days of that notice, unless we agree otherwise in writing. If it is not paid on time, we may end the contract and offer the watch for sale to someone else. We may apply the deposit against our reasonable sourcing costs and losses and will refund any balance that exceeds them. Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

6. Part-exchange We may accept a watch in part-exchange at our discretion. Any estimate or quotation given before we physically inspect the watch is provisional only and is based on the description, photographs and information provided to us. It is not a final or binding valuation. Our final valuation depends on our inspection of the watch, including its authenticity, ownership, condition, operation, service requirements, box, papers and accessories. We may revise or withdraw a provisional valuation, decline the part-exchange or cancel the proposed part-exchange transaction if the watch differs from the information provided or we are not satisfied with its authenticity, ownership or condition. No part-exchange transaction is final until we confirm the valuation after inspection and, where applicable, receive any remaining balance due. You must own the watch, be entitled to transfer it free from finance or third-party claims, and provide accurate information and any identification or proof of ownership we reasonably request. If we decline the watch or you do not accept a revised valuation, we will agree arrangements for its return; reasonable insured delivery costs may be payable by you.

7. Payment and verification Payment may be made by bank transfer, an approved card payment or payment link, or, at our discretion, cash. We may also take payment at our premises or through an approved marketplace. The methods available for a particular transaction will be confirmed before the contract is made. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, full cleared payment is required before dispatch or release. Title Page 1SOUTH COAST SWISS  |  CUSTOMER TERMS & CONDITIONS remains with South Coast Swiss Ltd until we receive full cleared funds. Card and remote payments are subject to authorisation, fraud and security checks. All customers must provide valid photographic identification. We may also request proof of address, evidence of the payment account and, where reasonably required, information about source of funds or the purpose of the transaction. Third-party payments may be refused or delayed while we verify everyone involved. Goods will normally be delivered only to an address we have verified. Cash is accepted only with our prior agreement and is limited to a maximum of £8,000 for a single purchase, including linked, split or instalment payments. We may refuse, delay, suspend or cancel a transaction where we reasonably suspect fraud, money laundering, sanctions exposure or other unlawful activity. Any refund will normally be made to the original payer and payment method, unless the law prevents or requires something different.

8. UK delivery We normally arrange fully insured next-business-day UK delivery using Royal Mail Special Delivery once cleared funds, verification and dispatch checks are complete. Carrier times are estimates unless we expressly agree otherwise, and Sundays, bank holidays, remote areas and events outside our control may affect delivery. If a delay occurs, we will keep you informed and provide a revised estimate. A signature and suitable identification may be required. If a parcel appears damaged or tampered with, photograph it before opening and contact us promptly. This helps us investigate but does not remove your legal rights. If we arrange the carrier, the watch remains at our risk until it is physically received by you or a person you nominate, other than the carrier.

9. Collection Collection is by appointment from our Poole premises. The collecting person must provide identification and, if collecting for someone else, written authority acceptable to us. Goods are released only after payment and verification are complete. Risk passes when the watch is handed to you or your authorised collector. A purchase is not automatically an in-person contract merely because you later collect it; the legal position depends on how the contract was made.

10. International orders International delivery is subject to our written agreement and availability of adequate insured shipping, normally using DHL or another specialist carrier. We will confirm the delivery charge and estimated timescale before accepting the order. Unless agreed otherwise, you are responsible for import VAT, duties, customs charges, local clearance requirements and any declarations or permits required for materials such as exotic leather straps or precious stones. We may refuse destinations affected by insurance, carrier, sanctions or legal restrictions. Mandatory rights in your country remain unaffected.

11. Cancelling a distance purchase If you are a UK consumer and the contract was made entirely at a distance - for example by telephone, email, message, invoice or payment link without both sides being physically present - you may cancel without giving a reason within 14 days after the day you receive the watch. Contact us by email at contact@southcoastswiss.uk or by telephone on +44 7707 043721 and clearly identify the watch and order or invoice number. We may ask why you are returning it, but you do not have to give a reason or use any particular wording or form when exercising this statutory right. The statutory cancellation right does not apply to an item made or clearly personalised to your specification, including a watch engraved at your request. Such an item cannot be cancelled or returned merely because you change your mind. This does not affect your rights if it is faulty or not as described. There is no automatic change-of-mind right for a contract made at our premises; any such return requires our prior written approval.

12. Returns and refunds After cancelling a distance purchase, return the watch without undue delay and no later than 14 days after telling us. Do not send it until we have issued return instructions, so that the high-value shipment can be insured and handled securely. Unless the watch is faulty, not as described or we agree otherwise, you pay the direct return cost and remain responsible for the parcel until we receive it. Use secure packaging and fully insured, tracked delivery. You may inspect the watch as you reasonably could in a shop. We may deduct an amount reflecting any reduction in value caused by handling beyond that, including wear, damage, alteration, removed protective seals, missing links, box, papers or accessories. Original packaging is not an absolute condition of cancellation, but missing or damaged items may reduce value. We will refund the purchase price and any other amount required by law within 14 days after we receive the watch back or you provide satisfactory evidence of return, whichever is earlier. We may withhold the refund until then. Refunds are made to the original payer and method without a refund fee. Enhanced delivery, import charges and return shipping are not refundable unless required by law.

13. Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods Consumers are entitled to goods that are as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality, taking account of age, price and condition. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 may provide a 30-day short-term right to reject, followed by rights to repair or replacement and, where appropriate, a price reduction or final rejection. These rights are separate from our warranty. Contact us promptly with the order details, photographs and a description of the issue. You must not allow a third party to open, adjust, alter or repair the watch before giving us a reasonable opportunity to inspect it and provide return instructions. Unauthorised third-party intervention will invalidate our voluntary warranty where it prevents us from verifying the fault or causes or worsens damage. It does not remove statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. We will cover reasonable return costs for a valid fault or misdescription claim.

14. Warranty Where a watch is supplied with a valid, transferable manufacturer's warranty, that warranty applies instead of our voluntary warranty for its remaining term and any claim under it is subject to the manufacturer's terms. Where no valid manufacturer's warranty remains, and unless the listing or invoice says otherwise, the watch includes a six-month South Coast Swiss Ltd warranty from delivery covering mechanical failure arising during normal use. Page 2SOUTH COAST SWISS  |  CUSTOMER TERMS & CONDITIONS Under our voluntary warranty, our first remedy will normally be inspection and, where reasonable, repair. If repair is impossible or disproportionate, we will offer another remedy required by law or agreed with you. The warranty does not cover normal wear, cosmetic condition, straps, bracelets, clasps, crystals, bezels, crowns, batteries or other consumables; accidental damage, impact, misuse, magnetism, theft or loss; reasonable timekeeping variation for the watch's age and type; or damage caused by external factors or unauthorised opening, adjustment, alteration or repair. A manufacturer or South Coast Swiss Ltd warranty is additional to, and does not replace, your statutory rights against South Coast Swiss Ltd where the watch was faulty, misdescribed or not of satisfactory quality when supplied.

15. Marketplace purchases If you buy through eBay or another marketplace, that marketplace's transaction, payment, delivery, authentication, cancellation, returns, refund and dispute terms and processes apply to the purchase. All requests must be made through the marketplace where its process requires this. For an eBay watch covered by Authenticity Guarantee, every return must be initiated through eBay and sent to eBay's authentication partner for inspection and re-authentication before it can be returned to South Coast Swiss Ltd; a return sent directly to us cannot be accepted. Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.

16. Complaints All complaints must be emailed to contact@southcoastswiss.uk. Include your name, order or invoice number, the issue and the outcome you want. We aim to acknowledge complaints within two working days and provide a substantive response within 14 days; if we need longer, we will explain why and keep you updated. If a consumer complaint remains unresolved, we will provide information about a suitable certified alternative dispute resolution provider and state whether we agree or are required to use it. You may also obtain independent guidance from Citizens Advice. Nothing prevents either party from using the courts.

17. Our liability We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for unforeseeable losses or, where you are a consumer, business losses such as lost profit, revenue or opportunity. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of statutory consumer rights or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. Events outside our control We are not responsible for delay caused by events we could not reasonably control. We will contact you, take reasonable steps to reduce the effect and arrange a new delivery date. If a material delay continues, you may end the contract where the law allows and receive a refund for goods not supplied.

19. Personal information We use personal information for order administration, delivery, fraud prevention, insurance, identity and anti-money-laundering checks, legal compliance and customer service. Identification documents may be securely retained only as long as reasonably necessary. Further details, including your rights, must be set out in our Privacy Policy.

20. Website use and third-party links Our website is currently provided for information, pricing and browsing only. There is no facility to complete a purchase on the website, and viewing a watch or making an enquiry through it does not form a contract. Purchases are agreed separately by invoice, payment link, in person or through a marketplace. The website and its text, photographs, branding and other content are owned by or licensed to South Coast Swiss Ltd. You may use them for personal browsing and enquiries only. You must not copy, commercially exploit, scrape or harvest the site; introduce malicious code; interfere with security or operation; impersonate another person; or use the site for an unlawful purpose. We may suspend website access for security, maintenance or misuse. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Services or links provided by Shopify, payment providers or marketplaces are governed by their own terms; a link does not mean that we endorse or control the third party.

21. Business buyers If you buy wholly or mainly for business or resale, consumer cancellation rights do not apply. No change-of-mind return is available unless agreed in writing. You must inspect the goods promptly and notify visible transit damage or discrepancies within two business days, without affecting any remedy for a concealed defect covered by an express written warranty. So far as the law permits, our total liability to a business buyer for a watch is limited to the price paid for that watch, and we are not liable for indirect loss or loss of profit, revenue, business or opportunity. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over business contracts.

22. General and governing law If any term is unenforceable, the rest remain effective. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. No person other than you and South Coast Swiss Ltd may enforce this contract. We may update these website terms for future orders, but the version in force when your contract is made will apply to that order. These terms and the contract are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a UK consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live. If you live outside the UK, any mandatory local consumer protections and jurisdiction rights remain unaffected.
